corner view: poem

Corner View is a weekly appointment - each Wednesday - created by Jane (Spain) and curated by Francesca (Italy), where bloggers from all corners of the world share their view on a pre-arranged theme.  The theme this week is " poem" and comes from Joanne (Japan) and Ibabe (Basque Country).

Shel Silverstein was an American poet, singer-songwriter, cartoonist, screenwriter, peace-activist and author of children's books. After listening to the news this morning of escalating hatred, unthinkably barbaric acts and retaliation, this poem seems appropriate.  Peace...

Very nice poem. I'm happy because I understood it and this is not always the case with the poems in English ;)

How did our world get so far away from the beautiful and simple message, and the `power` of a hug!!
