corner view: somewhere else

Corner View is a weekly appointment - each Wednesday - created by Jane and curated by Francesca,
where bloggers from all corners of the world share their view on a pre-arranged theme. This week’s theme is “somewhere else” and comes from  Elsa.

This week's corner view was a bit of a challenge. After all, if you're not familiar with where I live then how can I convey to you "somewhere else?" But this past Sunday I was in one of my favorite towns, just 40 minutes from here, sitting on an expansive lawn on a beautiful day, surrounded by people passing the time, enjoying each other's company and it dawned on me that I WAS somewhere else. In fact, the day before I had been out of town also, at a gig. In my free time I usually go out of town for music, art, dining, movies, shopping, family and all sorts of outdoor fun. As I thought more about it I realized that many of my friends also head out of town on the weekends for pleasure and even more of them head out of town during the week for work. So that was it - there was my corner view. I noticed all around me, the sights and sounds of people heading "somewhere else."

Transporting!
I love the images of the going there, and not seeing the `destination`. Great views and expression of the theme!
Happy Week!

Your photos symbolize the theme well, I think. The first one is my favorite because the weather vane tells us where the wind comes from but where it goes too...

Did you really crawl under the train for that photo? That's dedication! This reminds me of that movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles, although hopefully your getaways were more relaxing.

i used to have to commute to work, two hours on a British Railway train each day - not a nice way to go somewhere else!
