it's ok to not be ok

It's ok to not be ok. Everyone is struggling with something, facing some difficulty, wrestling with a tough decision. Everyone has a painful backstory. We just don't always show it. Knowing that we're all in the same boat has the great potential for changing the way we look at each other, treat each other. So be a little kinder if something in a friendship seems to be going awry or you run into a difficult stranger during your day. Be supportive rather than throwing up a wall to the person or turning your back on them and importantly, be kinder to yourself if your load is a little too heavy at the moment. We all have dreams. We all have expectations, insecurities, doubts and we all have needs, including the need for supportive friends and family and a little kindness from strangers. Being open to the truth that we're all fighting some kind of battle changes everything and changes how we deal with each other. Everyone is struggling with something. It's ok to not be ok.

I agree, we can be caught up in ourselves and forget that someone else might have challenges and struggles. Also when we have weighing thoughts or pressures others might not be able to "read" our minds. Lovely photo!

A beautiful post....

And a beautiful photographic interpretation of that work of art. Is it by Monet?

Also, it's good to remind ourselves, that no one has a purrrrrrrrfect life. Even if bloggers sometimes seem to be always jolly, or always "up" or the like.

Some of us don't share troubles, on our blog. Some do, and that;s fine too. But let's remember, that no one is without life issues. Just my 2 cents. :-)

Great blog post and something I really need to remember when friends are being a little (IMO) dramatic.

Thanks for reminding me that a little kindness and patience goes a long way.

I do think that the wall of perfection is not as high as it used to be. Whether it be the state of the world, the financial crisis, etc. I think that our collective rose-colored glasses are off. For some, I think that leads to cynicism, but I think that for most it has led to an increased empathy and openness. At least I hope so!

Such wise words Bev . . . and you're so right - it is OK not to be OK. I have been coming to terms with that idea myself a lot lately :-)

What a beautiful image. Is it your photograph? I would love to share it on my Eliza's Dream Facebook page and pin it to one of my Pinterest boards if you don't mind. I'll email you to check :-)
