corner view: view on my street

Corner View is a weekly appointment - each Wednesday - created by Jane (Spain) and curated by Francesca (Italy), where bloggers from all corners of the world share their view on a pre-arranged theme. The theme this week is "view on my street", and comes from Kristin (Germany).

The view on my street isn't terribly remarkable, but when it snows I grab my camera and get outside to document a winter wonderland. In my early years I lived in a part of the country that saw a good amount of snow each winter. From there I moved into the mountains and life in the winter was all about snow, snow and more snow. Now that I'm living in a warmer climate we don't get the wonderful white stuff nearly as much, but when we do...it's just gorgeous! The best view on my street is when we have a nice snowfall.

Heading to the pond, early in the morning, you can catch the mist rising as the sun hits the water and the ice on the trees makes everything shimmer.

I thought that this year I'd give myself the fun project of creating a photojournal for Advent, so beginning today and for each day until Christmas, I'll be posting a new photo that captures a little bit of holiday spirit. Taking the photos has been a lot of fun so far!
